Email Lists
On the Email Lists screen you can connect Mailchimp or Klaviyo so every captured address is added to your list automatically. Paste the API key and list ID and use Test connection to check them. Stores on other platforms can use the CSV export instead.
MailPoet and FluentCRM on your own site#
When MailPoet or FluentCRM is active on the same site, the Email Lists screen shows a card for it. Switch on Add new leads to MailPoet (or FluentCRM) and choose a List; for FluentCRM you can also tick Tags for each new contact. There is no API key: the address goes into the plugin's own list on your site, through its own PHP, and nothing is sent to another service. Test connection checks that the plugin is active and the list is still there.
- Confirming first. MailPoet decides this with its own Sign-up confirmation setting (MailPoet → Settings → Sign-up Confirmation): while it is on, a new subscriber is unconfirmed until they click MailPoet's email, which MailPoet sends. Its API offers no way to choose otherwise per form, so the card says which setting to change. For FluentCRM, Ask them to confirm first makes a new contact pending and sends FluentCRM's own double opt-in email.
- People already on the list. An address MailPoet already has is added to the chosen list. One that unsubscribed or bounced in MailPoet is left as it is. FluentCRM never moves a contact who unsubscribed back to subscribed, and a contact already subscribed is sent no confirmation.
- Consent. Where the form asks for consent, only leads who ticked the box are added. Without a consent box, the card says addresses are added without one and where to switch it on.
- When it fails. A list deleted in the plugin, or an error inside it, is counted on the card like a Mailchimp failure, with the plugin's own words. It never holds up or breaks the spin.
- When the plugin is switched off. Nothing is queued or sent and nothing is counted as a failure; the card stays, says the plugin is not active, and keeps the list you chose.
Erasing a lead under Tools → Erase Personal Data clears the wheel's copy. MailPoet and FluentCRM keep their own subscribers and answer those tools for them.
Once a key is saved it is not shown again, not even hidden in the page. The box stays empty and says a key ending in its last four characters is saved. Leave it empty to keep the key, type a new one to replace it, or tick Forget the saved key. Test connection with the box empty tests the saved key. The reCAPTCHA secret key works the same way.
The address is sent in the background, moments after the spin, using WooCommerce's scheduled actions, so a slow or unreachable platform never keeps the wheel waiting. Only the lead's number is queued; the address itself is looked up when the job runs.
