Getting started
Install and activate the plugin. Nothing happens yet — a plugin that shuts your site the moment it is activated is a plugin that gets deactivated in a panic, so the switch starts off.
Then, in about two minutes:
- The page — choose Coming soon or Maintenance, add your logo, and write a headline and a sentence.
- Design — pick one of the fourteen looks. Change any of the four colours if you want to; leave them and the design decides.
- Settings — say when you are opening, if you know.
- Back on Dashboard, press Close the site.
Open the live preview, at the top of The page and Design, shows the real page in a new tab — drawn by the same code a visitor gets, from what is on the screen at that moment, including anything you have not saved. It opens in a tab of its own because the page is a whole screen's worth of design, and a preview of it that is honest about its size leaves no room for the fields.
