Write to everybody when the site opens is off by default. Switch it on, write the subject and the message, and when the site opens — by your hand or by the clock — everyone who signed up hears from you.
Sent in batches of twenty-five from your site's own mail, as plain text, with a one-click unsubscribe link. Each address is stamped the moment it is written to, so a batch that dies halfway restarts where it stopped and nobody is written to twice.
{name}, {site} and {url} are filled in for you. Send me a test puts one in your own inbox first — worth doing, because whether it arrives is your host's business rather than this plugin's.
Mailchimp
Optional and one way. The address is recorded on your site first and handed to Mailchimp afterwards, so an outage, an expired key or a deleted audience never costs a visitor their place. Test the connection reads the audience back, which is the one call that proves the key, the data centre and the audience id are all right.
