Emails WordPress sends that you can do without
Settings → Emails WordPress sends. WordPress sends some routine emails on its own, and on a busy site they pile up. Each of these is sent as usual until you switch it off:
- Emails about automatic updates that worked, for WordPress itself, plugins and themes. An update that failed is still emailed, because that is the one somebody needs to look at.
- New account emails to the administrator, one for every customer who registers. The customer still gets their own.
- Password reset emails to the administrator, sent each time anybody resets their password. The person resetting still gets theirs.
Two kinds are deliberately not here. Comment emails already have switches of their own under Settings → Discussion. And the emails that tell somebody their own password or email address has been changed always go, because that is how a person finds out their account was taken over.
