After a move to a new address, Email Delivery holds the site's email until you confirm the move, so that a copy of a site never emails real customers. A notice on every wp-admin screen says Email is being held, not sent, with the old and the new address. Press This is the real site now: send held mail and the held messages are sent, oldest first, and everything after them goes as usual. Nothing is lost in between.
If email still does not go after that, the move probably generated fresh salts in wp-config.php, and those salts are the key the password was scrambled with. The password travelled; the key did not. The Settings screen says so where the password box is, and the Dashboard puts it on the list of things worth doing. Type the password again and it will work.
