The shortcode
[trasl_countdown] puts a countdown anywhere — a post, a page or a block.
[trasl_countdown campaign="Black Friday"]
[trasl_countdown ends="2030-12-24 17:00" heading="Order by" template="ribbon"]Copy a campaign's own shortcode from Campaigns — click it to copy. It names the campaign by its ID, so renaming the campaign later does not break the shortcode. A campaign's name works in the shortcode too, but a shortcode that uses the name stops working when the name changes, and an editor viewing the page is told which campaign could not be found.
Name a campaign to use its settings, or give an ends date to make a one-off. Every other attribute — heading, template, units, size, align, accent, labels, after — overrides the campaign for that one spot, so one campaign can appear two ways on two pages without a second campaign to keep in step.
Write ends year first, as year-month-day and a time on the 24-hour clock, in your site's time zone: 2030-12-24 17:00. A date written with slashes is read only when it cannot mean two different days. 25/12/2030 can only be 25 December, but 05/12/2030 is 5 December in some countries and 12 May in others, so it is not drawn at all rather than counting to the wrong day.
An editor viewing the page is told when a shortcode draws nothing because its end date cannot be read, because that date has passed, because a campaign that counts to each product's sale end date is placed on a page that is not a product, or because every cut-off of a daily or weekly campaign in the next 76 days is a day off. Visitors see nothing in its place.
In a theme template:
<?php echo do_shortcode( '[trasl_countdown campaign="Black Friday"]' ); ?>To show or hide other content when a campaign starts or ends, see Show or hide part of a page when the countdown ends.
