No. Cookie Consent cannot make a site compliant, and no plugin can promise that: it does the technical half properly, and the rest depends on your site.
The technical half is what the plugin handles:
- analytics and advertising tags are held back until a visitor agrees, not just asked about;
- Accept and Reject are the same size, nothing is pre-ticked, and scrolling counts as agreement only if you switch on Treat scrolling as agreement;
- a browser that sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is taken as a refusal, by default;
- every answer is recorded with a random reference, the date and what was agreed, so you can show what was answered.
The other half is yours: what your site collects, where your visitors are and what your privacy policy says. [cookie_list] puts the list of cookies on your policy page, but the plugin cannot write the policy. If you are unsure, ask somebody qualified.
Still stuck? Ask the developers who wrote it. We aim to reply within one business day.
