Speed and privacy
One stylesheet and one script, together under 12KB, loaded only on pages that actually show buttons and only after the page itself. No jQuery. No network SDKs, no tracking pixels, no fonts fetched from anywhere.
Nothing is requested from a third party, so there is nothing here to mention in a cookie banner and nothing that slows the page while a social network's JavaScript loads.
Every network button is a plain link. With JavaScript disabled they all still work; the script only adds copying, printing and the device share sheet, which a link cannot do.
