FAQs

Updated Help Centre 1.12.0Tested with WordPress 7.1

Help Centre → FAQs. Each is a question and its answer. Group them, order them with Page Attributes, and show them with [trasl_faq].

[trasl_faq]
[trasl_faq group="billing"]
[trasl_faq group="billing" limit="5" open="yes"]

limit is how many questions to show. Leave it out, or write all or 0, for every one of them. open="yes" opens the first answer and open="no" leaves them all closed; without it, Open the first question by default in the settings decides.

They render as <details> elements, so they open without JavaScript, they are keyboard-navigable, screen readers announce whether they are open, and the browser's own find-in-page can open one to reach the text inside.

An answer is formatted the way WordPress formats a post — paragraphs, blocks, shortcodes, embeds — but without the extras other plugins add to the end of a post, such as share buttons. Those belong to the page, not to every answer on it. An answer can hold a list of other FAQs, such as [trasl_faq group="returns"] in a Shipping answer. A list that would include the answer it sits in shows nothing there, such as the Shipping list inside a Shipping answer. [trasl_help_centre] shows nothing inside an answer at all: drawn there, it put a second search box and every topic and article title inside the answer, and into its FAQ structured data. Link to the help centre page instead. Anyone who can write articles sees a note in the answer saying why it is empty.

An FAQ with a password, or one a membership plugin keeps for its members, is not listed, and it is left out of the structured data too. It is not listed for members either: an FAQ has no page of its own, so there is nowhere for the membership plugin to check who is reading. In a list with a limit, the next FAQ takes its place.

FAQ structured data (FAQPage) is on by default. Search engines and AI assistants can read your questions and answers from it. Google stopped showing FAQ rich results in May 2026, so it no longer changes how your page looks in Google. Turn it off if another plugin already outputs FAQ schema, because two sets on one page is worse than none.
