Table of Contents Documentation

Install and activate. It starts working immediately — unlike most of our plugins, there is nothing to switch on, because a table of contents has one obvious correct behaviour and no way to damage a site by doing it.

From then on, any post with at least three headings gets a contents list before its first heading. If that is what you wanted, you are finished.

The three screens, in the order they matter:

1. Design — pick one of sixteen looks, and change any of the four colours if you want to.
2. Placement — where in the post it lands, and which pages get one.
3. Settings — which headings go in, and what the reader can do with them.
