Why does the exceptions box not offer my blog posts?
Because you have ticked Products and not Posts, so the bar was never going to show on a post and an exception for one would do nothing. Tick Posts and they appear.
Named places — the basket, the checkout, the front page — are always offered, whatever is ticked.
