Am I locked out of wp-admin?

Updated Coming Soon and Maintenance Mode 1.12.0Tested with WordPress 7.1

No. The admin, the login screen, cron, the REST API, WP-CLI, robots.txt and your sitemap are never closed, whatever the settings say.

The one thing refused, in coming soon mode, is your content to somebody who is not signed in: posts and pages through /wp-json/wp/v2/, and WooCommerce products through the Store API while the page covers the whole site. You, anyone signed in and anyone holding a preview link read them as usual.

Signing in always works. What the login screen refuses while your page covers the whole site is making a new account: see the next question.

A coming soon page in the Split design. On the left, the headline Our new shop opens on 1 November, a short message, a countdown of 10 days, 0 hours, 43 minutes and 31 seconds with the line Opening November 1, 2026 9:00 am, and a sign-up form headed Be the first to know with an email field and a Tell me when it opens button. A photograph of two friends in knitwear fills the right half.
