Does the settings file contain my password?
No. The holding page's password is deliberately left out, and the Import / Export panel says so.
That file is made to be moved — emailed to whoever is building your next site, dropped in a shared folder, sometimes committed to a repository — so it carries no passwords and no API keys, and never your licence key. Everything else travels, including the switch that turns the password box on: you set the password itself again on the new site.
