You are probably signed in with a role that can still buy: administrators and shop managers can, to begin with. Open the shop in a private window. Also check that the product is not under Products that stay on sale or in one of the Categories that stay on sale, that Show the notice but keep taking orders is off, and that the Dashboard says the shop is closed: a Switch on at time still to come, or a Switch off at time that has passed, means it is not.

A page cache can keep a page from before for a moment. The plugin empties the caches it knows when the mode goes on or off.
