Answer

I renamed a page. Do I need to do anything?

Updated Redirects 1.8.1Tested with WordPress 7.1

No, as long as it was published before you renamed it. A redirect is made at the moment you save and appears under Redirects, marked from a rename.

Rename the same page again and the first redirect follows the page rather than leaving a chain of two. When a page takes an address an earlier rename gave up, say two pages swap names or you publish a new page under an old name, the redirect for that address is deleted so the page answers there.

A redirect you wrote by hand is never overwritten by a rename, and neither is one a rename made that you have since pointed somewhere else.
