Answer

Which button style should I pick?

Updated Social Share Buttons 1.12.1Tested with WordPress 7.1

Twelve are offered and each card in the picker draws itself, so the quickest answer is to look. Two-tone, Raised, Underline and Badge all keep the name in your theme's own text and put only the mark on a colour, which is the calm choice under an article. As a rough guide: Solid and Pill are the loudest and suit a post that wants the buttons noticed; Soft and Outline sit more quietly in an article; Minimal and Marks only are for a page that has no room to spare. Segment joins the buttons into one strip with hairline dividers, which reads as a single control rather than six coloured blocks and is usually the calmest choice under a long article. Stack puts the mark in a coloured tile with the name underneath, like a phone's share sheet, and is the friendliest on a phone. None of them is the default but Solid, and changing the style never changes anything else.

A blog post about layering for autumn. A grey pull quote reads: Dress for the walk home, not for the walk in, with a Post this link marked with the X logo. Under the last paragraph, a Share this heading sits above X, Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Email and Copy link buttons in each network's colour. A column of the same six icons runs down the left edge of the screen.
