Answer

Does Bulk Editor work with WooCommerce HPOS order storage?

Updated Bulk Editor 1.7.0Tested with WordPress 7.1

Yes. Bulk Editor works with HPOS, WooCommerce's high-performance order storage, and with the older post storage, and follows whichever one is on.

HPOS keeps orders in WooCommerce's own order tables instead of WordPress's posts table. The Orders editor handles both the same way:

  • Reading and saving. Orders are read and saved through WooCommerce's own order API, never written straight to the database, so validation, lookup tables and caches behave as they do on the normal order screen.
  • Filters and sorting. With HPOS on, the filters run against the order tables; with post storage, against the posts. Sorting by ID, date and total works on either.
  • Compatibility. Bulk Editor declares itself compatible with HPOS, so it is not listed as an incompatible plugin under WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Features.

Switching storage later needs nothing from you: the editor checks which storage is on each time it lists orders.
