When a dark page is printed, Dark Mode sets the page's own background back to white and its text to black, so the printer does not lay down a solid black rectangle.
It does this with print rules that only the printed copy sees:
- the page background is set to white and the body text to black;
- the switch button is left off the sheet;
- your dark logo, and any image under Other image pairs, prints as the original light version, since a logo made white for a dark page would vanish on white paper.
There is nothing to switch on and no setting for it. Printing changes nothing on screen either: the reader's page stays dark while they print, and their choice is kept for the next page they open.
Under the Invert method nothing is inverted on paper, so the page prints in your theme's own colours (it used to print as a black sheet). Under the other methods the rules cover the page itself, not every box on it, so a panel or card with its own dark colour can still print dark. Open the browser's print preview to see exactly what will come out.
