If you ask it to. General → Automatic Switching offers set hours or sunset to sunrise. Set hours follow the reader's own clock, so eight in the evening is eight where they are. Sunset to sunrise follows the sun at the latitude and longitude you give — the plugin never asks visitors where they are. Leave the coordinates empty and each visitor's device setting decides instead.
A schedule only decides for somebody who has not chosen. Once a reader presses the switch, their choice wins, on a new site until the schedule's next switch or until their device is found set the other way, or until they press again: see A reader pressed the switch once and the site stays that way below.
