Why does a nonsense search return nothing rather than something?
Deliberately. Search matches on any of the words you typed, which finds far more — but it also means one incidental word can drag in an unrelated article. Weak matches are dropped, because a bad answer is worse than none, especially on the request form where a wrong suggestion reads as "we did not understand you".
